JUST THE
FAQs
- How long are the sessions?
Each session runs Monday – Friday 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. We offer extended
care in the afternoon from 4:00 - 5:00 PM, at an additional cost. We ask
that you sign up for this service before the session starts. Depending
on the day, we might be able to accommodate campers on a “last minute”
basis. You may enroll your camper in 2 or 4 days of the session, for as
many sessions as you like as long as behavioral expectations are being
met.
- What is the Xtreme ID Bracelet?
Your tuition includes a one year paid membership to Xtreme ID and
ID bracelet. We require that your child is registered and wearing
his/her ID bracelet during camp session.
Xtreme Sports ID is a yearly membership that features the medical
alert symbol, 800#, and a personal 8-digit ID#. You simply register your
vital information on their website. In the event of an emergency, first
responders, who are trained to check for medical alert bracelets, can
call the phone number, punch in your 8-digit ID#, and hear a readout of
all the submitted info.
Including:
- Who am I?
- Address?
- Emergency Contacts
- Insurance Provider
- Primary Physician
- Medical Alerts / Allergies / Medications
In addition the "WHERE AM I" feature allows you to record
your plans and sends an email to three personal contacts each time it is
updated. (e.g. 2/22/09, Surfing at Honolua Bay, be back at 3:00 PM)
- Is there a communication policy? How
do we inform you that someone else is picking up my child in the
afternoon?
G-FORCE wants you, as a parent, to call us ANYTIME with a concern. We
all want the highest quality experience possible for your child and if a
call or visit enhances this, then by all means we want you to do so.
Should any concerns arise that we need to apprise you of or need your
assistance with, we will never hesitate to call. Please understand
that we are not always readily available when you call. We are primarily
out amongst the campers and staff for the balance of the day.
Frequently, we will return calls after 5:00 PM, excluding of course
those matters that require immediate attention.
If your child has a play date or is being picked up by a grandparent,
for example, we ask you to inform us during the day. If someone other
than a parent frequently picks up your child (for example, a babysitter)
then we ask that you provide us with this information before the session
commences.
- What do you do on VERY hot days? Can the
campers cool off? What if it rains?
G-FORCE relies on nature; shady trees, rivers, the lake and also
incorporates proper hydration and extra “down” time and rest stops for
the summer heat.
- What is the staff to camper
ratio?
Close ratios are an important factor in each camper’s experience. You
can expect a 4:1 ratio in your child’s group.
- What is the parent drop off and pick up
procedure?
All pick-up and drop-off will occur at the same place. Instructions will
be emailed to you prior to the camp commencement. Please call us if you
will be dropping off late or picking up early on any given day.
- Do I provide lunch for my child? What does
camp provide with regard to food or drink?
Each camper must come with a sack lunch, including a labeled water
bottle each day. G-FORCE will provide a water bottle and a nutritional
afternoon snack and additional water throughout the day.
- What do I need to send to camp with my child
besides a lunch?
Please send your camper with a bathing suit, towel, hat,
sunglasses, sunscreen, and water shoes. You can add swimming goggles if
you like. NO electronics, game systems, MP3
players, etc. please!
- What does my child need to wear each
day?
We ask that you to PLEASE apply sunscreen before camp each day. Campers
should wear appropriate "play clothes" each day. This means
socks, sneakers and hats. We ask that you use a permanent marker to
label their backpack and all the contents in their backpack.
- How does camp celebrate birthdays?
G-FORCE loves birthdays and the entire camp will sing to the birthday
camper. If you
like, you may drop off nutritional treats in the morning for his/her
respective group. We request that you NOT bring additional items (ie.
balloons, toys, candy, etc.). In order to avoid undue pressure on you
and unnecessary competition amongst families, we would greatly
appreciate your respect for this policy.
- Is there any medical care at camp? What if
my child has allergies?
All of the G-FORCE staff has completed CPR and Basic First Aid
Certification. The medical form will ask you for pertinent information
and we encourage you to contact us should you want to discuss ANY of
this in greater detail.
We are a peanut-free environment thus we ask you
not to send anything containing peanuts.
